2015 NAA Convention

The Famu Alumni Convention is right around the corner, this page is to inform you of all that’s going on and how to be apart of this epic event.  Please forward this to your family, friends, and organizations.

If you have not we encourage to register for the conference, there are 3 days filled with activities and events to re-ignite, renew, and re-energize your Rattler Spirit. Registration is currently $350 till May 1st. We need to show visitors that Houston “Rattlers” have a stronger presence than any rattlesnake in the state of Texas. If your unable to register we still encourage you to purchase tickets a la carte to one of numerous events that are going on.

Although we’re focusing on the events listed below please go to the Convention Itinerary page to get a full list of activities to purchase your tickets.

 

Black Tie Gala

Join us for a night of elegance and class as we honor Famu’s best and brightest at the Distinguished Alumni Awards, we have some of our own local Alumni being honored at this event. Tickets are $100 and can be purchased on our evenbrite page.

Texas BBQ & Rooftop Finale

Saturday will be a fun-packed day full of music, food and celebration for Rattlers coming together in social settings.

For all ages, the day’s festivities will be kicked off by the Texas BBQ.  Food will be provided by a bbq staple in Houston, and music provided by FAMU’s own DJ KD.  The event is free for conference registrants.  Tickets are $15 to attend the event; you can purchase them here.

For the Grown & Sexy & Live conference attendants there will be The Finale: Rooftop Party.  Located at the top floor of the host hotel with breath taking views of Houston.  The entire floor has been rented out.  There will be 2 DJs, 2 separate rooms with huge dance floors, and plenty of “catching up” space.  The event is free for conference registrants.  Tickets are $20 to attend the event, you can purchase them here.

Volunteers Needed!

Looking to volunteer at the convention? Please fill out the volunteer form  so we can contact you, we’re going to need help stuffing bags, on-site registration, ushers, and other misc tasks.

Students and Non-profit organizations are encouraged to volunteer as well, you can earn community service hours. If you have any questions please contact Keryl Douglas at kerylldouglas@gmail.com

 College Recruitment Event

We our excited to inform you of an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to be offered scholarships to attend Florida A. & M. University.   As part of the convention, representatives from the university will include the university recruitment team, admission specialist, and scholarship committee members will be present and hosting a College Recruitment Event on May 13, 2015.  Please review the vent location and time below:

Information will be provided on campus life, degree programs, and scholarships.  On the spot, admissions along with scholarships for the most promising seniors will be conducted.  It is suggested that students apply to FAMU.edu prior to the May 1st deadline and bring their official high school transcript along with ACT/SAT scores to be considered for scholarships.
